Hi Sofa,

I'm Greek Cypriot and can see why you wouldn't want to come back! My parents had the reverse problem a few years back when my dad wanted to move out there and my mum couldnt imagine leaving everyone behind in england...and we still have plenty of family out in cyprus so it must be much worse for your missus.

Not that it's my business but you're earning a lot of money - why not use some of the dosh to pay for relatives to come out and stay with you more often. Might make things easier. If your wife flew back to england and made lots of short visits of like a week/10 days (even without you often) then she may miss home less and when she is in cyprus and relatives arent with you she'll be able to enjoy the country and look forward to the next visit.

She can't say it won't work until she's tried it.

good luck.

thanks mate we have tried all that.,.,all her familly have been out.,.,and when they go its like running rivers..,.,
we been back 3-4 times in 2 years.,.,.,we really have tried everything apart from the me coming back and fore here.,.,.,its my son for school too.,,he dont moan about anything,he goes to a private school here xenion high.,.
but all our cypriot friends send thier kids to the uk to be educated,.,as you know from your family.,.,a lot of cyp's go to uk for schooling..,.,
my son his learning but to be honest not just m wife but also me.,.,both think he is missing out on good education.,.,

all i see on the news here is about kids being stabbed in schools in the uk.,.,.its very difficult for everyone to be happy.,.,
i know working back in the uk would not be an opton for what i am doing here.,.,uk you are allways goverend by the weather..,.,and i cant imagine to many uk people having decking/pergolas.fencing etc.,.,uk dont have the weather.,.,.,
i dunno.,.maybee we might look at me coming out for a few weeks here and there.,.,i hate the flight though.,4 andhalf hours

where are you parents from in cyprus?
i am in kapparis/paralimni   east coast 15 min from agia napa.,.,

My family are actually from the occupied territory which is why a lot moved over to england/other parts of the world.

Now I have relatives in Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia but I stay in Larnaca when I go over.

Sorry to hear nothing has worked so far - if you do move back to england ship me over to Cyprus - I'll run the business for you Tongue

Did you hear about the one armed waiter?

He could take it, but he couldn't dish it out.

A friend of mine went to a restaurant where the waiter had lost his left arm in an accident.

Served him right.

my favourite funny of the moment is an old one. It involves Peter Cook on stage at the palladium or somewhere :

"Bernard Manning died in hospital this morning. Doctors have described his condition as satisfacory"
