Blackpool are 5/4 from 13/8 with Sky Bet to stay up after beating nine-man West Brom 2-1 on Monday Night Football.

Ian Holloway’s men secured three home points against the Baggies thanks to a first-half penalty from Charlie Adam and a second from Luke Varney just past the hour mark.

West Brom were reduced to just nine men inside 30 minutes following red cards for Pablo Ibanez and Gonzalo Jara but pulled a goal back late on through Youssouf Mulumbu.

Both sides have both made strong starts to their Barclays Premier League campaigns, sitting sixth and ninth respectively after 10 games.

Sky Bet offer odds of 1/12 from 1/20 for Roberto Di Matteo’s side to maintain their top-flight status come May.

Meanwhile, Blackpool are 4/7 from 4/9 with the online betting company to be relegated back to the Championship with West Brom 11/2 from 13/2 to suffer the drop.

forgive the blurb, but surely they are odds-on to stay up? No sign of them doing a Hull and collapsing pointless for 25 games from here.

thoughts?

I don't really get the comparison between Blackpool and Hull, before last night they where 1 point above the drop Hull on the otherhand where well clear.I definitely expect Blackpool to be there fighting in the last 5 games. They don't have one recognised quality striker and I think they will still go down.

After watching the match last night i'd say blackpool will still struggle this season.

Think the price is about right.

They miss too many chances at this level to be safe, but the fact that they are making so many says a lot, although last night that was largely against 9 men.

The thing is there are quite a few average teams in the premier who cld go down this year, thus blackpool could almost stay up by default.

I really think west ham look doomed, both wigan and wolves won't be far away either.

Looking at the prices these 4 are kind of marooned from the others in the betting.

Don't see much value there then, perhaps bolton@9-1 and sunderland@14-1- although bent's goals should keep them up.

no way they're odds on

so much of their play goes through varney, great player but he'll go missing as soon as the weather kicks in and pitches start cutting up

I have him in my Fantasy Footy team but thought he was tez last night, he's still fat and lazy. Still think Blackpool will go down, they just don't have the squad.

I was impressed with West Brom, never gave up and kept playing football despite playing with 9 men for most of the match.

No.

I take it that you have lumped on Blackpool to stay up in that case.
