I need to speak to somone via skype. Do I need headphones and microphone or can i use the mic and sound on my laptop - guessing no as this will give feedback?

That should be fine, I know plenty of people who use that, sound quality wont be amazing but it will probably do

I use headphones because my speakers on the lappy aren't that great and can't hear unless I'm in a quiet room.  Quiet rooms in this house are hard to find.  The mic on the lappy will do just fine.  And the speakers should be grand too once yer not having the chat in Grand Central Station...or my house.

your contact list should have the test call option in it. use this to check how well your mic/headphone setup works

doubt you'll have any problems with the built in ones
