6-max, 100bb's effective.

Hero opens to £6 from CO with , button calls, big blind calls - both are unknown as hero only sat down 5 minutes ago.

Flop:

Checked to Hero who bets £14, button fold, big blind check-raises to £36.

We?

BB check raising on a board like this is ussually a draw (in my experience).. FD with the ?Tricky though...I might call here but it reallly depends on what I'm feeling like and how I've been running that day.

Really tough spot with no other reads.  Suppose he shows up here with a lot of hands that you are beating but not massively ahead against....things like KJ, ATss etc.  Seems a bit fast for him to have AJ and trips seems fairly unlikely given he peeled pre.  Really if you are calling here you are hoping he has AK, QT or maybe JT.  Think on balance I cry and fold.

Completely depends on villain, only a few people you can bet fold to. call if their not a complete goon. RR if they are.

so you flame me for what i said about busting tournis to go play cash (which was a joke) and you make decisions based on how you've been running that day?? lol

disclaimer: if that was a level in the first place then nh.

lol..didn't flame you mate...just giving my two cents, didn't mean anything by it just didn't like the way you played that (or reasoning behind it)

Also big difference between a cash game and a tourney hand IMO.

Obv I am aware that "how I've been running that day" shouldn't affect whether I call here or not but it's a bastard of a spot and I'm just being honest when I say I could sometimes spew off here and sometimes I easily fold this.

big diff between cash and tourni yeh, but this is about making the correct decision, and things like that should bear no influence on your decisions regardless of cash or tourni. fair enough being honest and admitting that sometimes you think like that - i was being honest and in what I said as well. If ppl think it was a bad shove then I don't mind that, I'm happy to talk about it and analyse it AND be proved wrong!

But the correct decision for a tourney can be an incorrect desicion in a cash game, no?

Geniunely interested in the response here as that's what I always thought.

Yeh the correct decision can always be different for cash or tourni, but using the logic of how your feeling that day etc is illogical for both.

The same identical spot can be put in cash and tournament, and I'm pretty sure the descisions wouldn't be the same. Have to take into account ICM, tourney clock/comp structure, difference in oppos games (people are nittier in comps obv). However, extraneous factors such as availability of other games or how you perceive your current luck based form. All these factors can do is skew your descision and make it -EV, I dont think these will ever ever ever be +EV really.

Anyway the hand. It is a really sick spot, and as people have said, it's villain dependent. Tbh, if they have the slightest ability I'm more happy with our hand, because they can often have draws/airballs. Tbh, I hate all options here lol, pretty puke spot. I don't like peeling a turn, because against all oppos value range, draws and bluffs, we're probably gonna have to strap ourselves down for the full 3 barrel (probably not gonna C/R if they're not firing 2 more chunks).

I think I'm either raising or folding, pretty much totally villain dependent. Think I rambled a bit here, I'd wrote pros and cons of all our options but didn't like my post lol
