straddling fun how often should i straddle in a huge aggro game??

after dropping my gf off at work at 9 am i waltz into G Manchester to see if there is a cash game full of tired tards

to my surprise there was a game but it wasnt full of fish

the game was playing pretty big there was two western asian brother who were both doctors or something and dave who said he once played in a 250 500E game in monte carlo and lost 150k in 90 mins. These 3 haave been playing for around 12 hours so maybe pretty monged out..

they all had big stacks
dave 4k (said he was still down)
dr 1 5k (about even)
dr 2 3k (just topped up 2k)

i sat down with 300

it was a  1 2 game with lots of straddling

rich offless was in the game also with 1 2 fish who keep busting and reloading

so not the best of games to get into

my Q is Should I straddle 4 every time as Dr1 and dave will auto straddle to 8 and 16 every time i straddle 4

obv not rolled for a 1 2 4 8 16 game but im not gonna sit there and wait for 9 hours till my gf finish work. Couldnt go hotel as already checked out. and have no friends

Or should i just refuse to straddle and slow the momenteum down?

i had a couple of bullets to reload with didnt really wanna sit down for the whole clip just wanted to ninja my short stack

there's always films on early, cartoons and stuff

then find something else to do after, with £900 in your pocket there are an awful lot of things you can do that are a hell of a lot better than sitting in a bad game that you're not rolled for

Forgetting BRM considerations, my advice would be to stick on the £4 and feign excitement at doing so in order to get a loose image. Investing only £4 seems pretty cheap if it means there will be and extra £24 going into the middle (even if you are OOP). Also you can pick a perfect stack size to go with against 3 players who are going to be going to war with each other and spewing hard vs a snug shortstack strategy.

The big stacks obviously aren't playing well if they will £8 and £16 straddle with smallish effective table stacks. The bigger and more ego centred the game can be kept, the longer the big stacks will stay in the game and battling each other to get unstuck imo.

you're real poker volume has come from sit and goes and such similar types of >100bb's poker amirite?

sounds like this could be perfect, the guys are tired, prolly all losing and have about 4% of the experience in short stack shove/fold poker you do, so sit with like £240(anything less than £1-1.5k is gonna play small so the there little difference between 200-500 imo) straddle to £4 and then you know exactly what ranges to shove/ fold over the inevtiable straddles re-straddle raise etc.

Sounds like an INCRED game.

Straddling is -EV in a) Tight 9max games b) you're the only one doing it most of the other time it prolly makes you money to straddle a decent % of the time providing the stacks are right
