Well, it's over, what a great party and week of poker, and who would have predicted that one of our regular £15 evening players would win the tournament and no deals would be done! Brilliant job by Pokerstars and the DTD staff, and so much support from the poker community. Love the thread on EPT Lenton Industrial estates, ironically it's true, if we were in London we would probably get an EPT, I have asked a few occasions over the last few years, as the EPT I'd my favourite brand, 8 handed, great structured events and prestigious, but I doubt whether that would ever happen due to our location.
Anyway, I'm shattered, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, to put something like this on takes so much energy and committment by so many people and we all need some rest to reflect on what to do next. We have Vegas and the CPP to look forward to, plus the Grand Prix and Chip Leader are fun projects, although my personal thinking is that I would like to take a shot at another big 1m event at the club in 2012, whether that's possible im not sure, PokerStars brought 800 players to this UKIPT and did lots of marketing Europe wide which would have generated 200 extra players minimum, so in reality, we probabaly generated 600 ish, out of the 1600 total.
Thank you all again, my only slight issues were the buffet q and also the sheer volume of people in the card room, over 1000 wed to fri, I didn't get a single complaint, but I think improvements could be made in the future for major events, player experience is of the highest importance and it's good to be self critical.
Cheers rob
