My company banks with Natwest and there were no problems at all with outgoing payments.
It was only employees who personally bank with Natwest that didn't get their money.
That can't be true, Stu doesn't bank with Natwest and didn't get paid......
I was hoping he was going to ask me to borrow pennies ;-) that would be a first.

Of course it can be true. I know for a fact that it can be true because it is. I even checked it myself.

I bank with NatWest both business and personal and I was lucky enough not to get effected at all by all this.

I've a mate was IT with RBS, they outsourced and the decent ones jumped ship then. he's been getting regular emails offering more and more cash to go back to help with this as a contractor. He's convinced it was a fairly easy inside job from the remaining workforce who were under a hell of a lot of pressure despite not being in 'core business'.

It can be true if your business current account had money in it. Because if it didn't, and you want to pay bills/salaries, you couldn't transfer money in and get it to actually update the balance, and with no balance you can't pay out. All Mr Pie is saying is that his company keeps lots of money in the current account. So it's a brag really. Of either financial incompetence or genius foresight.

Natwest get the info Wednesday am and everybody gets paid Friday at 00:00. Everybody with non Natwest accounts got paid as normal.
We don't keep lots in the current account but it's enough to cover the wages so we wouldn't have needed any internal transfers.
Sigh at the financial incompetence. Sure can be bothered moving money backwards and forwards for an extra 1% I really should though.

Was just mildly joshing. If our place had any financial competence, we wouldn't have to use the Natwest fiasco as an excuse for paying HMRC late this month...

I actually don't know many people who have been affected by this, actually.
I did, but nothing majorly, but was mega annoying.
Lots of people are going to close their accounts with them and it's going to cost them a bomb in compensation, etc.
If I could be bothered, I would have closed my accounts with them too.
