After catching up with a film thats been out for a while called ' in time ' it got me thinking that the only truly priceless commodity is time itself i.e. your life.. you can't buy it.steal it and you don't know how much of it you have left... but given the choice how much would you really give up for other things..

It snowing, its friday and i cant be arsed to do work so forgive the rambling...

examples :

choice..be a multi millionaire but die at 60 ...or have a comfortable living and retirement and live till 90

choice.. be impotent at 40 but live till 90... or be rocking and rolling as hard as gibralter all the way to death at 65

choice..be surrounded by loving family and friends but die at 65.... or be alone with no friends or family members but live until 90

choice.. be hung like a grand national winner but die at 65.. or be a 1 incher and live till 90

From the responses to similar threads in the past, I'm under the impression I'll change my mind as I get a little older. Right now, at the ripe old age of 25, I would definitely pick the shorter more exciting options! I can't bare the thought of living until 90, let alone with a tiny dysfunctional weiner and no one to talk to as per your examples!

I guess it all boils down to how much stock you put in the adage "time is money." I guess if I knew I was two weeks from death I'd size things up a little differently, but having grown up in a rubbish area on the edge of a rubbish city with few to no privileges I would definitely trade in a % of my life expectancy to live a little better/faster.

I remember during an episode of High Stakes Poker, Phil Laak is talking to Doyle Brunson and he says something along the lines of "I'd trade in my net wealth and take a vow of poverty to be 18 again." So I'm expecting I will look at things differently in a few years' time.

Give me 3 mill and I'll happily pop my clogs at 60. 18 years of living it up will do me just fine.  Smiley

Why would you want to live till 90 and be loney?

Be hard to look after your self at that age also

Easy 90. Don't need to be a multi millionaire to have a good or even great life.

If the last time I was going to get laid was in 2.5 years time I wouldn't want to live another 5 years never mind 50!!

As the Ho said. Why would you want to live 'til 90 if you were alone?

I'll take the 1 incher for the extra 25 years as long as it's fully functional.
