When I was 15 I was reading a lot of fiction books. Then Stephen King published a book co-written with Peter Straub. 646 pages and to this day I can vividly recall sitting on my bed reading it in one marathon session, probably 8 to 10 hours. I don't think any other book has ever had me so gripped - could not put it down:
The entire time this album
was constant repeat on my pride and joy, dual-side auto-reverse *with* Dolby B, it was the dogs b****s:
Every time I hear a track from that album I'm 15 again, all hormones and angst. Might be fun to fire up the Kindle and Spotify and see if it still feels the same....
Love that, and particularly loving the auto-reverse (bet some on here have never heard of Dolby or auto-reverse, never mind chrome or metal play.
There's a New Model Album (my favourite band) called 'Impurity', that came out when I was about 15. I remember playing it quite a bit at the time, and it coincided with my younger brother getting a game called King's Bounty on his Megadrive. For a number of days we played both continually and now when I hear the a few tracks on the album (not all of them though), it takes me back to that time. To this day my brother will call me if he hears one of the tracks from the album, or I'll message him online with a line from a song if I'm listening to it and he'll reply with "King's Bounty!".
I did English at A Level, and one of the books we had to study was bloody Jane Eyre. I had to read it during a holiday in time for the start of term. I remember sitting in my parent's living room, listening to the "Are You Normal?" album by Ned's Atomic Dustbin that had just been released. When I hear some of the tracks on there now I remember that particular moment, and sodding Jane Eyre - but fortunately I still like the album.
