Would just like to get views on this hand. At first people watching the hand couldn't believe that one of the protagonists folded, believing it to be a clear call. I have my own thoughts that I'll air later (even these have evolved/changed slightly whilst writing this). I'm putting it on here as another player is disagreeing with me and I'd be interested in all y'alls thoughts.

Playing 1/1 game live in Bristol Gala.  In truth with the players at the table last night, it plays more like 1/2.  Good standard of poker has been played so far, with pretty much all the money going to 4 or 5 players, with other players then 'dropping by, losing their stacks and moving on'.

Player Profiles:

Seat 2. Mate#1: Been playing very solid TAG. Never limps, has been squeezing and 3 betting more than anybody else. Got stacked start of night flopped set v flush draw and 2 pair in £700 pot. Has since worked his stack back up and is now ~£360. Has not lost a pot since, with or without SD, until last pot (decent size) where he gets outdrawn. May be slightly tilted.

Seat 3. Villain: Turkish aggro-ish player.  Calling station/one trick pony. One trick is to limp shove or shove flop. Terrible player. Sitting with £120 ish.

Seat 7. Mate#2: Been playing very snug. Has 2 winning players in immediate position on him (one very solid, one lairy but more measured aggro on the night). They along with seat 2 have been 3 betting him off a fair % of pots pre. Has generally been running bad. Sitting with £269.

The Hand

Mate#1 is in the Big Blind, Villain has straddled to £2.

7 limpers and the straddle and by the time it is with Mate#1 in BB, he squeezes to £14.

4 callers!

Pot is £80.

Flop

  Two Clubs

Mate#1 leads out £75.

Villain calls.

Mate#2 calls.

Btn and SB fold.

Pot is £295.

Turn

Mate#1 has ~£265
Villain has ~£35 back.
Mate#2 has £180.

Turn card is

Mate#1 shoves for £180 effective.
Villain insta ships his last £35.

Pot is now £510.

Mate#2 is holding  and it's £180 to call.

Questions

Does he call or fold?

Reasons for either?

It looks like a call to me.
If you give the other guy all overpairs, top two sets, bigger flush draws and maybe AT, the Jc8c has plenty enough equity to make the call.

Heads Up no doubt. But this is 3 handed - do you not consider the effect the villain has on the dynamics of the hand?

We are obviously worried that one has a set, and the other a flush draw, which would suck a lot.
Fortunately, mate 1's hand is weighted towards good 1 pair hands, and villain will often have a top pair kind of hand. If we can rule stuff out then there maybe a case to fold, but as it is, reasonably happy to get it in.

Probably makes it easier if mate #2 jams flop, definitely don't think he can fold now either way.

Am I right in thinking mate #1 has bet £75 into £67?
