TY all guys, as I said a bit of fun on a Stars home game, 9 played and i managed  a 3rd.  I can kinda see what the attraction of the game is. Thanks for the offer Greekie but doubt I will play the game again

Use your position well, start with 4 cards that preferably work together, if on draws, look to be drawing to the nuts, no point trying to inflate the pot pre flop with Aces, from previous experience your likely to lose all your money.

P.S If in a pot with any Canadian FOLD regardless.

always consider there are always draws for everyone in a large ring game.  you might have the nuts on the flop and turn, but can get outdrawn by many hands on the river!!  be careful.

might sound totally obvious but having 3 or 4 of the same in your hand is no good and don't get hung up on AA in your hand...lots of people seem to...the winning hands tend to knock up a few notches in omaha...straights, flushes and full houses are average just like 1 and 2 pair would be in hold em.
