I'll tell u a story as a recreational player, this won't look good on me but at the time it was the right thing for me:
I was out of work and had been for a few months scraping by, I went to Newcastle for the football.
Me and my mate went and had been drinking since midday so we go to the casino he plays a bit of roulette I sit down at poker table with 40 quid.
I managed to spin up to 160 in about an hour, because at the time I couldn't really afford the weekend I text my mate to come over so I could leave and not seem like a hit and run.
So basically it paid for my weekend, I wouldn't do it today as I'm in a more fortunate position but you never know it could be someonea last bit of money. Although it shouldn't be like that but people will always take a shot if they need to and no one understands everyone's situation at the time
Online I don't really think it should be etiquette, bad for the game but people play with their money so can so as they wish.
Cliffs: yawn
Who cares, a lot of us including myself have done it. I don't play much these days but I remember sitting I a 2/5 game a couple of years back and within an hour I was about £1500 up, I was going on holiday the next week and that was basically my spending money for my whole trip sorted. Now I didn't get up and just leave, I stayed there for a bit longer just to pretend I wasn't hit and running, but there was no way in hell I was losing that money so I just locked up. In all honestly it would have been better for the table if I had just left as I was zero value at that point and the table would have been better off with another player.
