It's that time of year again.
Not going this year but will be glued to the excellent coverage on the BBC.
Especially looking forward to The Who , Weller ,Suede and hoping to catch some of Moody Blues and Steel Pulse.
Anybody going ?
Who are you looking forward to seeing ?

Sigh.
Law of averages meant you were bound to miss out on a ticket eventually.
Tbf you have run pretty good where tickets are concerned, over 100 days on the farm.
You will have to chill in front of the TV this year with your daughters.

Pretty slim pickings this year.
I'm looking forward to Motörhead, Belle & Sebastian, Suede and Run The Jewels, though the highlight of the weekend will definitely be the George Clinton/Family Stone coming together - the sheer density of funk could rip a hole in the space time continuum.

Confirmed seat on the sofa viewer.
Used to like Ryan Adams, but he went of the rails, we'll see. The Who, could be great, but equally terrible. Like Patti Smith, but not sure she can do it on the main stage.

Foo's on Friday would certainly be a highlight. I think I spend some time at the John Peel stage, some pretty good bands on there. Enter Shikari playing Friday and Saturday - handy as I'd watch the Foo's on Friday so could still see them Saturday. Leftfield on Sat night.
I thought it looked like slim pickings too but looking down the list there would be plenty to keep me happy, I'd probably just not hang around the main stage much.

I don't know how you can look at the line up and think slim pickings. I am hopelessly out of touch, but could still see loads I'd like to see. Whenever I went I'd just give up chasing round and just plonk myself down somewhere and watch whatever came on. It was usually the Jazz world stage rather than the main though. With all those stages these days, you just seem spoilt for choice.
Edit. Am supposed to list bands. Roy Ayers, Suede and Roni Size. Going to gamble and think Pharell Williams is going to be v good. Chemical Brothers sounds good too. But if I have a good spot, I wouldn't move.
I would probably avoid Paul Weller and most of the main stage. Got dragged to one of his performances before and thinking it was pretty grim.

When I say slim pickings, I mean of the acts that are likely to make the TV coverage, as I'm not actually there.
Main stage headliners are Foo Fighters and The Who (zzzzzzzzzzzzz) - Kanye might be interesting depending on how much he embraces the Glastonbury vibe. Paul Weller, Alt-J, Paloma Faith?
Even the Other stage has dreary shit like Rudimental, Deadmaus and Mark Ronson.
Though I have just spotted the Frank Ferdinand/Sparks thing on the Sunday so I hope that gets shown.

Ah got you now. I was thinking I wish I was there and could see all these bands. Hopefully we have the red button to save us from the main stage.

I must admit for all the years to miss, its not so bad, but the pain of breaking the streak is setting in and its still a week to go before I would usually be heading down.
Reprezent being there is a dagger to the heart, they are in my top 3 festival list so the chance to relive that particular old glory is quite a miss.
Hype, Clinton, Slaves and many more would be must sees but I don't think there is anyone on the list that I have never seen whom I am totally gutted to miss. Of course its far more then the music, missing Arthur Smith run on for hours or the chainsaw rugby in the dark and just the general level of rumness will be hard to replace.
I will at least be around to celebrate the old mans birthday for the first time in 20 odd years, going to take him and the girls to the seaside and avoid the tv.
Anyone going have a great time you lucky git.
