Ok I will bite.

Updaters are IMO very Important for a couple of reasons, Firstly they play an integral role in bringing news and views from tournaments that some of us are unable to attend, but have friends/partners/Fav. players that are there, and that for one is invaluable.

Secondly, Updaters also are GOOD for the PLAYERS in that they are bringing their names into the wider domain and generally increasing their profile.

Finally, Updating is a bloody difficult and tiring job (as anyone who has ever tried it can vouch for) Poker needs updaters, players need updaters, and I for one am gratefull for the hard work and effort (not to mention expense) that they put in.

Try and imagine what would happen if football never had "updaters" no way of finding out how your fav team was getting on , because there is no one there to keep you informed, no one to tell you how a fantastic goal was scored ... Not everyone can be at every game ever played, and UPDATES and UPDATERS are here to stay...

Imagine how terrible the world would be without Chris Kamara going "Unbelievable Jeff."
