This is a hand from a home (cash) game last night. It's really loose end of the night bussiness, hence the rather questionable pre-flop call. It's the post flop play I'm interestered to hear what people think about. The reason I ask is that I got a (reasonably friendly) rub down for my post flop play.
4 handed, blinds = 10p/20p
I'm in the small blind with 52o
UTG raises to 70p
Button calls
I call
Big blind calls.
Flop comes 34Q, Rainbow.
Check, Check, initial raiser bets £2.50 (into a £2.80 pot)
I'm the only caller.
turn is
(second diamond to hit).
He bets £3.50 (into a £7.80 pot)
I call.
River is
(third diamond)
I bet £10 (I don't put him on the flush for obviouse reasons)
He dwells for ages, then calls.
I show the str8, he shows 2 pair.
I don't really know how to play draws. I played it very basically and was going to fold the hand if I missed. Was my play of this draw acceptable? I don't think that the turn call can be critisised (?) given it was pretty small in comparison to the pot. Should I have been calling the flop?
