Just bought me a laptop, set it upi then froze, now when I switch it on comes up with boot device, i have run the recovery disk, but half way through it says it has to stop otherwise it will damage the computer, any advice please

TBH it could be numerous things, and there are LOADS of things we could go through to fix it (but most I wouldn't recommend unless you know what you're doing) As it's brand new I would take it back without hesitation ( as Bongo said). I always wonder if it's a sign of things to come when it happens with a new product! lol.
