I willl also explain - before you start! - as to why on APAT Threads & Posts, it is necessary for me to add the signature you see below. I know, it's looks pretentious, but there is a reason, so just bear with me please.
Tony Kendall
Chairman, APAT
Have I missed this?
It sounded like it might be interesting, is all...
Sorry Bongo, I think I may have forgotten to explain why this was. I just thought, given that I wear various hats, it would be best to add an APAT "signature" to any APAT Posts I made, to avoid potential conflicts of interest. In practice, I've made so many APAT Posts today, I've sort of forgotten! I never dreamt for a moment there would be so much interest, in truth. See, not THAT interesting at all.....

Very best of luck in this new venture Tikay & the others involved sorry I do not really know you, thought I hope that this will change in the future.
It seams areally good idea to me and I am sure that I would like to take part in some of the events
So please keep us informed of the details
No, we don't know each other that well, but are you not the Gentleman who won a seat for $10 or whatever, Online, for the Paris WPT this year? Ran rather well, too, if I'm not mistaken. And I showed you the monster cash games going off, & you commented how much money they were chucking in the pot with random hands? And "ANAKASH" - was that Alias not derived from either your daughter, or (forgive me for this odd confusion), your daughter's horse?
This will be rather embarrassing if I have got the wrong person......

thanks for the explanation tikay...i went through most opf the extremely long thread to find answers to some questions that i had and here they were all the time.
I can't travel to all events (simply don't have the time or money to do so) but can't wait for the scottish event....this whole thing sounds like it would be what the kids these days call "Kick-ass" events...BTW....Scottish thing in glasgow, right? Edingburgh is a pain in the arse traffick wise

I must add my best wishes to Des,Tikay, Richard and Mel, in this fabulous new venture within the poker playing community.
It seems to be exactly what people like me and meny others, have wanted as the way to consolidate our poker playing exploits.
The 'Tour' is an excellent idea, and I intend to be an active participant.
The online tournaments, will extend my internet play,so a new deposit onto Pokerstars will be made before they commence.
The general principals of the APAT,as outlined by tikay, look like a real philip, to a poker scene that was just beginning to feel a bit jaded.
Let battle commence

I agree - I'm interested that some people are unhappy to pay a membership type fee but were eager to agree to a fee to play at Rob Yongs new place. In my mind the arrangement is very similar, it's a commercial enterprise, it just happens to be that the person benefitting is not so well known to Blonde so people don't like it and are more suspicious.
Interesting.....

Might be local to you - I don't know - but not for me...so i would only be able to play occasionally as is the same for other people here. But they were still willing to pay.

Not that local too me, damn site closer to you than me. lol.
The point is it will always be there, and whenever i want a game and am nearby i can go there. I don't have to pay online weeks in advance......they take my membership fee and use it to help run the club making it the best place to play in the UK. Those are the things i would pay a membership for!

I think this will concept will work if it is marketed correctly through media like Blonde, tournament buy-ins have escalated out of control for the major festivals and other prestigous events. Good luck to everyone involved.
