I would have understood if DC had a set or 2 pair, that kind of bet, wanting the russian to come over the top. But the bet looked weak ,so the russian came over the top with the worst hand (I believe the Russian thought he was winning at that point) and took the pot.
Thats why I thought DC would have bet slightly more to guage the strength of other guys hand.
The 200 bet was only going to lose the pot for him.

179 runners in a £5 rebuy, what do you reckon about 750 rebuys

Dave eventually busted out 4th in what had become a crapshoot. Lowest chip, he "moved" with T-7 clubs, & the Estonian guy woke up with TT.
No help from the board, & that's that.

I remember the £200 bet being into a £900 pot, but as you say it was mistake. We were still at the early stages of the comp and I was really testing Alex to see if he was prepared to play pots after the flop. A lot of players would consider the bet a 'set up' or wouldn't have the balls to re-raise anyway. I found out in this pot that Alex was prepared to 'play' which was bad news. My opinion this morning is that he may well have come over the top of a larger bet anyway but thats irrelevant. Playing this pot in this manner told me I couldn't really mess him about on the flop. I had play powerfully against him.
Generally though Alex played the best and was a worthy winner regardless of the 10 3 episode.
I was very disappointed with my performance. I tried evry move in the book and none worked. Raising big with good hands, raising small with good hands, smooth calling with good hands. In all cases, I just couldn't get on.
I dont believe that this £200 was the worst play though. I should have most definately called with Q7 for another £4,700 when I was looking at a pot of £15,700. This was a huge mistake. My thinking was that it would have left me with £4,000 if I called. If I passed I still had almost £9000 which was a respectful stack. This was an error of judgement on a 4 handed table playing £1,000 / £2,000 with the most aggressive player just in front of me. I should have taken my chances with the Q7.
I am quite depressed about the whole thing but please dont give me there there you played well.

I cant comment on the play as I am afraid I fell asleep. One minute I was baiting atit on the chatroom thing the next I was well away. THis is nothing agaisnt you Dave I just think this isn't the best show on TV to show poker. I think a live feed from the game at robs the other night would've been far more entertaining.

Respect for being honest, there doesnt seem to be alot of that these days with a few of the top pro's.
On your day, you are definately a different class to the others playing tonight, but like you say it wasnt to be.
Excuse me for saying but you didnt seem to be playing with the same confidence and authority of normal. Maybe it is because your lack of form is affecting you?
Im sure you will be back shortly terrorising the likes of us, until then chin up and good luck.

I hardly think I have been the first person to say this show is garbage. I have watched several now and only managed to stay awake until the end of one which happened to be Robs game- I think that was only because I was doing updates on it.

This was the first time i have watched it, what a crap show.
Structure was appaling.
The QQ hand i think personally Dave you missplayed it, but its a lot easier when we can see both your cards and your opponents.
The fact that you have to consider calling a raise all in with Q7 shows how poor a structure it really is.
