no I don't think all the best players should go and play for chelski or real..I think Liverpool should make more of an effort to improve. It pains me to say I just don't see that ATM. and I can only blame the board for that.

Eh?

After Houllier we were a right state. Financially and with the team we had.

Now we have the European Cup in our trophy cabinet and the FA Cup. We have a side that will comfortably get into the top 4, which financially is our top priority.

In just over 2 seasons what is our manager expected to do more than this?

Benitez has bought: Alonso 11m - Garcia 6m - Bellamy 6m - Pennant 6.7m - Crouch 7m - Kuyt 9m - Agger 5.6m - Gonzales 4.2m - Morientes 6.8m - Sissoko - 5.6m - Reina 8m

What exactly has our board not helped with?

They gave houllier too much money to spend on dross.

Lots of Liverpool fans criticise the board.  They don't have Russian mafia billions to dip into when they want, and they have the club's best interest at heart.

They also give the manager as long as necessary to get it right.  Too long in some cases (Souness and Houllier).

Our academy is one of the best in the world. The players it has churned out are excellent. Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Carragher. With the exception of Man U which other club can boast the same talent from the academy in recent years?

HAD the best academy more like. And that was what Dalgliesh(sp) set up.
These players have been around for years, no one has come through the academy in ages.
In this day and age the top teams don't give an XXXX about the youths, they just buy who they want.
Acadamies are for the likes of West Ham, 'Boro, Man City nowadays.
