The home line is not used for calls - so I take it I dont need microfilter??

Why will there be 2 boxes attached- does the product I have to buy tonight  have 2 boxes included within it

Told you I was a numpty when it came to this - now imagine this same conversation with Curry's staff - I would still be there now lolol

You still need a microfilter even if you are not using the phone line for calls...

The product you will buy is only one box as it has a built in Modem...

On the back of the "box" there will be a symbol for ADSL or line or a picture of a phone... this cable goes from the phoneline to your router...

It will have a pamphlet explaining how you set everything up but you will only have 1 Does everything box Smiley

also, 99.999% of the time the adsl modem/router all in one boxes have at least one microfilter included in the box.

yes - the easiest way will be to actually connect the laptop to the router using the network cable provided to set everything up the first time. It will give you an IP address for the router setup page which you type into internet explorer, and that will bring up the settings. Most settings will be defaulted for most service providers, so all you will have to do is put in your username and password and dont need to worry about VCI/PPPOA/PPPOE etc etc.

Sure I have been down this route. You go into a shop, say what you want and they say you need this box here. great, thanks and takes it home.
gets home and it doesn't work. You go back and then they say no you don't need this box you need that box. take the new box home and it works. Why they can't tell you what you need in the first place is beyond me. ;bat;
