A friend a few years back was a nanny in the states and it was nothing but trouble and the family were the biggest pain in the  going and wasn't recommended as an experience.
Only other advice is to have sufficient money behind you when going, may be a bit of a catch 22 situation. But being skint abroad is probably worse than being skint at home.

Who?  Your Mum and Dad, or the Cypriots?

Australia is a great opportunity.  Don't do farming though, it's well hard work.

It's a great place to spend a year.  It's so big too, just work some, travel some.

Happy days.

Working on a cruise ship without a speciality trade its is dam hard work... non stop, up at all dodgy hours. The benfits are good though. Seeing the world and all that.

Austraila is good. Jobs are not as easy to come by as people say though. Canada is promising but stay away from the cold parts, shockingly cold in some places. Where my friend lives it wont get above freezing for about 2 months.

Pick wisely, do your homework, or, you could stay here and keep us all smiling at your threads....

Hi Pops

I think you have to be 21 to work on a cruise ship but I may be wrong!

I also had a Friend that went to America to nanny and ended up in a whole lot of trouble and hated it.

Have you thought about being a holiday rep, A young lass I use to work with has done it for a few years now and loves it,she does Spain etc.. in the summer and the ski resorts in the winter.
If your intrested let us know hun and I will see if I can get in contact with her for you.

Take care now
And keep smiling

My friend is in charge and she has studied abroad and done some sort of camp america thing so she's more clued up than I am. We're going to go on holiday soon as well, get away from life for a bit!

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. Don't think I could do Australia though, so so so far away, I need to be able to get back easily for blonde bashes!

lol  .  My sister was also a nanny at this time, but she isn't called Louise either.  It seems to be a good way to spend time in the states and get decent pay
