Surprising fact concerning bleach

I read this in the latest Focus magazine and thought it was really surprising.  Don't try this at home 


Bleach is the World's number 1 killer of germs. No bacteria, virus or fungus can survive once being exposed to bleach. It is obvious that drinking neat bleach is a serious danger to your health causing severe damage to your internal organs and most probably death as a result. However, if you need to drink water that you suspect is contaminated with germs, add a teaspoonful of thin bleach to a litre of water, shake well, leave for five minutes and then it's safe to drink. 

I will remember this fact next time I am stranded in a hillbilly area that doesn't have a clean water supply.

Nope  .  That may fall out, but you will be drinking safe water.
