only a $10 game and i was a bit drunk anyway so i'm not that bothered.

but as he check raised me on river, im 95% sure he has the other 10 and we are splitting, so why didnt i just flat call.. just incase he has 77. really i want someone to say theres a chance he had nothing. but no one will. i played it like an nob jockey

Blinds I assume are 200 400 in 1 minute.

Nothing you can do by the time the river comes - maybe you can get away on the turn, but he is not going to push u off the hand anyway which means u see the river.

my main point was that theres no way i am going to fold if he puts me all in.

the thing was, he didnt. he check raised but i could have flat called his check raise and still had 1700 chips. i think i was being too greedy rereraising thinking it was a defo split pot

The chance of him holding quads here is very small- you have to raise the river* (and call any all-in that may follow.)

Anyone with an overpair is likely to put in a small river bet to try and keep it cheap for them and/or to see where they are.


*If the non-paired river card (the 3 in this instance) is greater than the lower pair (77) then you may not want to raise as he may have a higher FH of course.

As for the river i play it the same even tho he has check raised you, there are more hands you are beating than losing to. It might be a pure bluff or an over ambitious 7 even an awfully played overpair (i have seen it before).

The only reason not to get it all in here is if we were on the bubble in SNG or MTT.

Think you were just UL m8, against a known player i opt for the flat call, against an unknown i assume usual moron player and lump it in.
