What should i be thinking when i have a low pair after the flop but also say a q k or a in my hand?

Yup and even if you have something like Q5 on a 2,3,5 flop, it's quite possible that there will be people with 66 or 77 hanging around, or even 44.

and on the same kinda note, what if you've raised preflop in midish pos with something like 99 and an overcard comes on textured flop... lets say there's one or two other in with you - would you always make a continuation bet when first to act or if checked to you? do you do this as a matter of rule, or mix it up a bit.  how about if there are two overcards?

With one overcard I more often than not will take a stab at it

With two, more often not...check call or check fold

But the key is to mix it up and note the characteristics of the players who are in the pot with you...active?passive?etc etc
