Sunday Million Poker Stars ... less than 2000 players left... Blinds 800/1600
With a first prize of $180k USD have been trying to final table a big Sunday event on and off since last April...
I had approx 20000 chips - average chips 30000 and with blinds creeping up know that I need to make a move.
UTG raises (has 47k chips) to approx 5500 ... everone folds to me ... I am holding AA...
I reraise All In...
The SB and BB fold so I now either want the call or the lay down. I put him on AK, AQ or a pair 10's or better.
Sure enough he eventually calls with pocket tens and hits a ten on the flop to make a set and send me to the rail
Should I have just reraised double his raise or was the allin play the right thing to do to isolate him into a heads up show down?
The ten was spiked on the flop so if he had just called he would have taken me for all of my chips anyway.

No mate, it was the right move. The hand played itself, he was putting u on AK or AQ and fancied a race with bigger chips.

Playing the stars $100 rebuy to try and make up for the AA hand - plaing against the likes of Shaniac, JohhnyBax, TMAY420, Annette_15 etc... Bloody tough field - currently 38/165 after break - would be good to FT this one for the experience...
(not to mention some reload for my broll)

just inflicted a 2 outer sick beat and doubled up to now be 10/89 - need to pick my spots and be patient - watching the superbowl has helped while away the time

I don't think you did anything wrong, Greg. You got him to stick it in with the worst hand, a minimum raise is always going to look suspicious. You just got unlucky. Don't forget the 50p for the bad beat tin though.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Rhetorical was it Your play is fine. If the stacks are deeper by 10k i flat call though. And why are you asking, you got him all-in with the worst hand, just a shame the chips arent given to you there.

Lately I have been busting out of the tournaments whilst being either ahead pre flop or flopping trips on the flop then busting out to runner runner flush. I agree I probably made the right play as flat calling in this case would have trapped all my chips if he came over the top. In heads up play I tend to push hard for most if not all my chips with KK or AA.
In live play the guy mayhave folded his 10's - people seem to play a lot looser online.
