feel like a quick share

since going back to work last summer I'd lost some enthusiasm for poker. I've always said I prefer live poker to online but the atmosphere at Notts Gala is more like a bear pit every week. Basically while waiting for DTD to open I've barely played at all. about a month ago I started playing a few $20 / $30 STTs on stars then after some decent runs started playing the $20 180 runner SnGs and cashed in a couple of them. It gave me a kick up the arse to get back out to the Gala and first attempt at a friday night £20 rebuy (always my least favourite game of the week) I cashed. 2000 chips to start and at the end of the rebuy I had 15000 so no top up or rebuy used. went out 6th in the end for £380. not a fortune but a good return on £20 amd it's encouraged me to start playing live again.

looking forward to my next game already

nice touch Adam.

I like you, have lost that motivation to play since the turn of the year, I had a good run for the last few months of the year but it seemed like as 2006 disappeared so did my luck. It seemed that I couldn't win a race blah de blah. I was getting so frustrated with the game I decided to have a break.

Ive said to myself many times before that I will have a break but couldn't bring myself to stop but this time i couldn't wait to stop,I would normally play for about 4hrs + a day so it was alot to stop. I went out and bought myself football manager 2007 and played it for hours. I have now decided this week is the week imgoing to start playing properly again.

I'm glad your break has helped motivate you again and I hope mine does too.

good luck,

dan.

ive dont a pretty simlar thing, i decided 2006 was my year to play full-time on the live circuit not the big-time circuit just the local north-west circuit, playing between £5 - £200 buy-in events, and every firday/saturday in various cash games £20/£100 buy-ins and i did ok, but i was playing 7 days a week, starting at 8pm finishing at 6am every single day, most days going on to a local cash game after 6 till around 12 when it got to march i was doing ok +£4k but i was allways nakkerd, by august i was down nearly -£1k just could'nt consontrate in the comps and then i started on roullete allways a bad thing, before i knew where i was threwout october/novemeber i was playing before the comps, during the comps, in the breaks, and after the comp with mixed results this also threw me off my game obviously and i didnt win a single comp threw out oct/nov,  i decided on the 1st of decemember to cut down just play the value comps around and try cut out the roulletee it worked out allright i won 4/12 during decmember ,  my year end figures was ,   comps played = 259  comps cashed = 120 comps won = 30
 total =/- from comps  +£7,500   roulletee  - £15,000  blackjack - £7,000

so my year end i was down £14,500 not a great year i must say done my bankroll in the way everyone told me i would do

so when we hit january, i decided i would only play sunday/mon/tue and the odd wed  and i won the first comp £50 rebuy for £1750 a great start won the next £10 rebuy for £870  then played roulletee again!! and did the lot in less than 2 hours now we are in febuary and i havent played roulletee since so things are looking up,  only problem is i keep going out between 7-18  and in my local only top 3 get paid, agh! but im back to enjoying poker again, and the results will come keep getting in the same situation 1 time u got to win the 50/50 - 60/40

yesterday i went out 19th makeing a move on the dolly with j/q off,  only to get set in by the bb with j/10 off i was pot commited so had to stick it in,  flop  8 9 Q  say la ve lol

into march now, and my plans are to play sun/mon  and wednesdays now and keep off the roulletee its easy when u are skint not so easy when u have money in ur pocket ! its strange though because when i go threw the doors i allways say to myself no roulletee u havent come for the roulletee but allways end up on it, and watching it when i carnt afford to play

lol, seems like the break has done me good, made just over £100 profit playing a few lower limit 6pacs on crypto (£10/£20) so i thought i would give the next multi that was starting a crack whatever it was. it was a $10 comp 70 runners and i just won that. only $210 but it feels good to get back into it.

sorry about the little chirp guys but it feels good to be playing again and winning aswell.
