Trip in 3 card brag (the holy grail)mmmmmmmm never managed it. The only time I was ever rolled up (sixes)was on a hand I spotted the dealer bottom dealing ( 20p game in a pub where no shuffle involved) himself a biker. I was the crazy blind man who gambled alot and having spotted the bottom deal I immediately looked at my cards and intended to leave....note to idiots- if you are going to bottom deal yourself a monster hand please don't give someone else at the table a bigger hand. After about 20 minutes and all his and all his mates money going into the pot I left a happy man. (this was around 15 years ago btw and is the only time I have ever spotted anyone attempting to cheat).

I can trump that M8, playing late into the night against a just released lag(GBH), got involved in a blind raising frenzy, neither of us would go open, till he noticed I'd bet out my stack,so he opens up and puts in a big bet, I look and attempt to call, by borrowing cash from a mate......" no lending " he grunts "you'll have to fold"
I said hold the game i'll drive home and get more roll.
He said I'd have to get out house first...........I stood up walked for the door....trembling,

"Good call" he muttered and trashed his hand,I poketed a table full of oners, and we became firm friends.

lol..poker before LNP and allin rules was really like the wild west. I still play in a 7 card stud game every so often where you can bet what you want when you want and there are no allins- its call or fold no matter what- IOUs are accepted of course.

Ahhhhh, 3 card brag........now that takes me back!
First time i played i didn't really know the rules and actually saw a fella with 666!!!
We used to get the odd gangster come in the pub to play this and i've seen people drop £1000 on a table and say "i'll stay blind", which is daft cuz we all just walked out!!
We used to let you "cover the pot" once only and no borrowing over the table.

Of course not.

Once played a 3 card brag game against 4 builders who had a spate of coming into my pub on payday and getting lashed. We played for 4 hours, i took all their money (£2100)  and another £2500 in iou's. Never saw them again.... funny that.
