London Poker Masters - Gutshot

Hi there,
Sorry this is a little late, had some computer trouble.
Just wanted to say how much i enjoyed the comp. Winning it obviously is going to make it6 enjoyable, but I thought the whole comp was played in good spirit.
Probably sat with Tikey for 15 of the 20 hours we played and it was a real pleasure to have met and played with him.
Many thanks
John Curtis

Busy as i am today, I HAVE to reply to this next........
I have said very little about my exploits at Gutshot last week, for reasons which will become clear later today when I make you aware of something you need to know. I have been, in effect, unable to say much about it, but once I've said my piece today on the reasons why that is, all will become clear.
BUT....for now, I must pay tribute to John Curtis, who won the Main Event. John was the best player over the 2 days, in my opinion, & thoroughly deserved his victory. When we got heads-up, he quite simply ran all over me. No other way to say it, he just murdered me. Well done John, you a worthy champ. Oh, & contrary to what has been stated on another Poker Site Tourney Report, I did NOT go back to The Vic & claim I was unlucky. Anybody who knows me just knows that's laughable. I went back & told it how it was - I got mashed up. I think my (feeble ) sense of humour may have got misinterpreted - I said to several folks "wow, I was SOOOOOO unlucky....my J-3 failed to hold on against his JT".......
By a remarkable coincidence I ran into John last night in a Private "Pro-Am SNG" - again, more of which later. And we clashed again. John made a play against me that was massively brave, imo, & showed, to any who may doubt it, that this guy has a big future in the game. I set him all-in & he called me with middle pair, no kicker, for all his chips. GREAT call, if I may say so. And yes, he was ahead.
John, welcome to blonde. Much respect mate, I hope to see a lot more of you at the tables. Preferably not mine, mind.......

Well, as John suggested, there was some interesting play, &, at the risk of repeating myself, more of which later.
But A-4 man positively ran over the table during the first level last night. And we are all thinking, SHEESH, how DOES this man do it. Eventually, it came down to someone forcing him to show a hand - we had not seen ONE hand of his.
Eventually, he moves in for the 6 zillionth time, & rather naughtily, we goad his opponent into calling for his entire stack with a weak hand. And A-4 man showed just that, A-4, no pairs, no draws, nothing, he'd just bluffed every hand. Kudos A-4 man! But he never won another hand, poor fella, he got murdered after that. And the guy who made the first brave call, went on to win the tourney.
By the way, a little postscript to the Gutshot Main Event. The blondeites know I'm obsessive about folks smiling, enjoying their poker. And John did not smile much early on - & I gave him a hard time because of it. Turned out he was just dead nervous, & he's actually a big smiler. I'm happy to apologise to John for suggesting otherwise.
I was stranded at Vienna Airport yesterday (he says, rambling on) & there was one of those dogs they use for sniffing drugs & stuff. And this dog never stopped wagging it's tail. Wag wag wag wag wag. And it smiled, too, such as dogs do. Can't tell you how much it cheered me up. I just love smiles. They're free, too.
Simple things please simple minds, yeah, yeah......

All very intriguing.
Is it "later" yet?

Too late in fact Keith, I need to get to bed. It's nothing intriguing or exciting, but I just need the blondeites to be aware of summat before I can start chirping about my Gutshot result. If you wanna ring me in the next 10 mins, I'll spill the beans to you, but it's nio big deal.
Otherwise, it'll be in the morning now.

Good point Know It. I'll stick to the dogs backside, let the others keep the sheep.
