Quick note to say more of you should have fun and get out to a local rebuy for the social side of things. I went to Manchester last night to play a £3 rebuy (no I ain't gone skint before someone says it I have been teaching a newbie to play and decided the first live casino game would be better being a small fun affair). After about 5 minutes a guy at the table asked how I enjoyed being on Skypoker the week before- it only turns out he was the player I reraped with the AA v his J3 and he is also a blondite. I played blind pretty much for the first 90 mins and however I tried I couldn't have a rebuy as whenever I got low on chips I seemed to win a monster pot. It was good fun but I must admit by the time we reached the last 2 tables I had gotten a little bored of the amatuer dramatics of some players together with the table banging and whooping and hollering (too many people watch the WPT etc and think thats how you should play). I started to play blind again as I wanted to to get back to my laptop and earn some wages lol. Obviously I went from chip leader to out inside a few hands.
In response to a thread the other week about the tabled hand contraversy it actually happened to me for the first time last night. A 6way big pot early on was checked to the river by the only two active players in the pot (myself and a newbie). Newbie then stated nothing and threw his hand over and I showed my pair of

with a 2 kicker (5th pair) and shockingly everyone else mucked. As I reached for the pot I saw newbie had the Ks5s to go with the 3 spades on the board and told him he had a flush- I pushed him the pot. Another player stated that his hand had been mucked as he said he had nothing and threw his chips over the line, a couple of the players even wanted to call for a ruling lol. The cards were on their backs and they hadn't touched the muck so I was having none of it and gave the guy the pot. It does show however that many people (new players mainly) don't understand the gentlemanly conduct side of the game and I may have been a bit harsh on jj as it seems to be the norm in most players to try and win at all costs.
Strange rules- With blinds of 200 400 I threw two 500 chips into the pot from utg the first hand I arrived at a new table. 2 people said you didn't say raise so its a call and I politely explained that wasn't the rule. It was irrelevant anyway as the button pushed for 5k or so and when I looked down at the mighty half wilson (they were suited diamonds brian, sorry) I couldn't help calling. I was in really good shape v his QQ as I was drawing to 2pair, str8 and flush and the flop was a nice 4d6d2s- I won the dirty way by hitting running

though. In blackpool sandcastle they have taken this declaring your action to the extreme by not allowing a raise unless you say it. If someone raises before you and you ship all your chips in in one motion it is deemed as just a call unless you state raise first (ludicrous). They have also brought in a mobile rule which is if you touch your phone at the table (to text, answer call, switch off anything) you get a 10 minute penalty- even if you aren't in a hand. This made for some interesting action between myself and nick slade who was BB to my SB when I was trying to ring him under the table when everyone passed to me to see if I could get a steal through
I did say I would never go back to these type of games but having played 2 in the last few days I must admit I had a scream at both and would recommend any player who plays the bigger games to go and just have some fun- I know lots on here do it as a job and make their living at it but it can also be a good giggle (something I had forgot for a long time). A big thanks goes to Nick Slade as well who managed 30 rebuys in a tenner event and topped up the prizepool and my wages at the end of the night
