I think they'd have got through any of the groups on the balance of their performances

im not serious rafa must go, but he made so many mistakes, milan were awful at the back, missed oppertunity

This is why Liverpool fans annoy everyone. What game were you watching?

The way he played Pennant was brilliant. God knows how many chances Liverpool had in the first half. Manchester United or Chelsea, or even maybe Arsenal, would have buried at least one of them.

Milan were awful at the back? What about Carragher gifting the ball to Kaka, which set up the goal? Or Agger giving Inzaghe enough room to move a tank into for the free kick?

You were doing so well until that bit in bold killed your point Wink

that's 2.30 on the tv. maybe the refs watch said 3.

unlucky Liverpool though. best team of the knock out stages won, dispite not being the best on the night. still a good showing from the reds

...and the substitution that adds another 30 seconds on (or have I got that wrong?).  It's a 'minimum' of 3 minutes, not 2 minutes and a bit.

But that wasn't responsible for the final result.  We had our chances, and should have won.  Crouch should have been on earlier, and apart from the mistakes we were the stronger team.  Football's all about scoring more goals than the opposition.  We couldn't do that, and we paid the price.

What are you on about?  I don't even think that he's a Liverpool fan!

Over the 90 minutes, Liverpool had the better of the play.  We couldn't finish, and we were punished for it.

But for all the talk of Milan being such class and that they were going to walk all over Liverpool with all their class - well that quite simply didn't happen.

liverpool will be kicking themselves tonight.

The never troubled the keeper in the second half at all.

Surely they've got to go for it. The game seemed to fizzle out.

We'd probably miss.

You're quite right. We didn't trouble their keeper enough.  I was screaming for Crouch to be on earlier, and yes, I think it could have made a difference.

Never mind.  Roll on the summer and next season.

(But Gullit, please shut up about the Milan president being the best president ever.  The man is as corrupt as they come.  He deserves no recognition).

It's a funny ol' game. 2 years ago we played for 6 minutes out of 120 and won it. This time we were better for 60 and lost it.

In a strange way this year's run has done me prouder than 2005 as we've shown we can be better than the top teams rather than just beating them. Hardly anyone expected us to be able to cope with Milan, we did, comfortably at times as we did with Barcelona and Chelsea. I've no doubt that under Rafa there will be more European finals to come.

Crouch should have come on sooner for me but that aside Rafa got it right. We were unlucky last night, as they were in 2005. I guess that's us even.

I hope Liverpool will win, but if Milan play anything like they did when they won 3-0 at home in the semis, then Liverpool have no chance.

Backed Milan to win 3-1, 3-0 and 2-0.

Should have gone 2-1 me thinks, liverpool will definately get on the scoresheet!

2-1 or 3-1 are my picks

I really should start betting.
