I dont think Owen was £18m. The most common figure I've seen is £17m. Certainly if there were any appearence related monies in there they wont have been paid!!

Our transfers over £5m are scary: (bold ones possibily laughable)

Dudek was just under £5M, and Kirkland was reportedly a little over £6M.  Shame he kept on breaking.

He scored 1 in every 3 games and will be sold on for a profit. I dont really see how it's a bad signing.

If we sold him for 2 million it'd be a bad signing.
