Instead of buying a last minute (pressure shopping) piece of jewelry...Himself gave me a nice chunk of cash.  For some reason, I'm not even pushed to spend it on anything.

Being unable to drive around during the manic pre-Christmas shopping 'fun', I was forced to look at Christmas from a different point of view...and I like the 'new view'.  What's it all about?!  All the madness, pressure and obsessive everything.  Half the kid's presents didn't arrive on time (and still haven't, but that's another story).  The kids were BRILLIANT about it...bless.  Granted, they know the package is stuck somewhere in Dublin and they'll get it eventually, so maybe that helped.  lol  On Christmas Eve we bought 1 litre of milk and 1 loaf of bread...because that's all we needed.  Had a GREAT time together and we're happy.  Best gift of all.

My Father In Law gave me a cheque for £50 which was nice of him, not complaining.  The missus took it and put it towards our holiday next year, but down £50 in the pocket.

My Grandma gave our daughter a cheque for £10 but made out in my name.  Gave £10 cash to my daughter, cheque taken by missus for holiday fund.

Down £60 so far.

Voucher worth £40.  Confiscated by missus for some shelve thing she wants.
