They were great in their day but I don't think it would be economical tbh.
Technology moves so fast and although they were the bees knees when they came out you could get a camera twice the quality for half its price now.
Camera manufacturers don't want you keeping your camera for years they want you to get a new one every christmas and so they put parts in them that fail after a while.
If you still want to persevere with your Fuji then you could give these people a ring  http://www.newtonellis.co.uk/  and they could give you some idea of cost, I have used them on a few occasions and they were very good.
They used to sell refurbished cameras as well so they might have a finepix that's like yours if you're keen on keeping the same type of camera.

If all else fails bang it down hard on a table, it might just knock it back into line, it can't make it any worse.

My wife has just informed me that i am definately intoxicated because i can't stop laughing after the picture of the car post.
Could be a long night for her.
