I bought a new lcd tv and connected it to my laptop - but the tv is displaying an area to the right of my screen - is this cos i'm using multiple monitors?

go to control panel, then appearence/personalization then adjust scrn resoloution.

should be able to reposition the scrn.

if thts wht u meant.

Just me being stupid - its ldo that using 2 monitors is going to open up an additional area to put something rather than show the same thing on both.......

There will be a tick box within display properties - advanced.. extend my windows desktop to this monitor... untick it.. you now have the same on both screens

Talking of monitor set-ups, IF i get a 2nd, how difficult is it to set them up side by side?  Do the monitors have to be linked by cable, or just individually to the comp?

You'll need two outputs from your graphics card first and foremost.. if not then you need to buy a splitter.. after that its pretty easy plugin -> go!

You can always add additional graphics cards as well if necessary.

You can always add additional graphics cards as well if necessary.

if you only have vga connectors you can get an vga/dvi adaptor
