I live at home with my parents, who will be charging me £200 a month rent when I start my new jobs. With other things to pay out like travel and food etc I will have about £400 left to myself to spend on what I like. Maybe more than that. This will be off £13,500 pa so I dont know how much that equates to an hour (9-5). Cant be arsed to get the calculator out. But considering I no longer play poker, and my main interest is chess it doesnt cost a lot of money so i can save it, so its a good standard of living for me living at home. Living on my own would be different and I imagine £13.5k would be sub standard living. A good annual wage for someone living on there own would probably be at least £18-19k. Although it could be more now credit crunch is hitting us all.
thnx for being the only one to say lol.,.,

col, kev,,,,how much would it take seriously to get you to work for me,regardless of what you would do..,.,
i dont want you but just a nosey ba5tad really,,,,,

i reckon kevs answer would be £150 a day ?  am i far out either way??
i tell you what if i had any jobs going for anyone.,,.the first one would go to TAXIMAN..,.,seems a decent guy..,.,

It depends what the gig is tbh mate, if its to doss about in sunny cyprus just being your pal, I would do that for £50 a day PLUS expenses.

If its manual work I wouldnt do it at all ... my hands are as smooth as a babys arse and have never done a days hard graft in my life ... I aint gonna start now Smiley

A good wage is relative to loads of things, some outlined in this thread.

How much do you need? what are you willing to do for it? do you want a job you enjoy? how much responsibility do you want?

I gave up my career at PWC along time ago because earning X amount a day don't mean shit unless your happy.

Very true - but then sometimes you get to a point where you cant afford to give up X amount a day because your life has changed (family, mortgage etc).

Personally i would love to be able to have a total career change, but circumstances dictate that i wouldnt be able to afford it - so i have to continue with the job i am in.

Just over $100 for a full day, but I'm a student and so it doesn't matter.  Cool

I jacked in a job and took voluntry redundancy 3 years ago thinking grass would be greener on the other side, after 2 years and 3 jobs all less pay and more work i returned to the original company. I'm no longer in the position of responsibility (stress)i was in before i left and earn around £6000 less a year but ultimately i am happier.
