various articles/bits of news tell us that poker is currently massively on the rise in china and the far east

does anyone know of any sites where the new influx of players are likely to be playing? seems like this may be an oppurtunity not to be missed!

There are supposed to be a couple of iPoker skins, though I have not met any to my knowledge.

This is about live casinos in Japan, a nation of 130,000,000 people who are largely a homogeneous market.

With the Macau casino industry booming year after year – Macau's casinos recently overtook Las Vegas as the world's gambling capital in terms of revenue – the Japanese government might be looking to keeping their gambling citizens at home, rather than forcing them to head to Macau for gambling holidays or into illegal and unregulated underground casinos.

There are many illegal backroom casinos littered throughout Japan, but under the current legislation, the only legal gambling open to the 128 million Japanese residents are bets made on speedboat, bicycle and horse racing as well as lotteries. Pachinko, a Japanese version of pinball played in thousands of noisy parlours throughout the country, is not officially defined as gambling, because prizes must be exchanged outside the venues for cash. The Pachinko industry has also been subject to widespread criticism due to its alleged links to organised crime.

I believe that online poker is included in the restriction on gambling in Japan (I know you can play online if you're in Japan, but I don't know if it's actually legal to do so).  But if the casinos get the go ahead, I'm sure online poker would be part of any new legislation.  If that's the case, and online poker starts to develop in Japan, it will become massive over there.

I know of a site which has pretty much asian only punters, obviously ridic bad but it is rife with collusion and the like however can be profitable if you know who to play in a game like that, ever played Notts Gala?

I can try and get a link for you Tom.
