That's daft, but it'll probably depend on what the prospectus etc said.
Although I think all the trainee teachers who listened to the Govt ads in the last few years saying how desperate we were for them & are now unemployed should be able to sue for their costs though.

You're joking right?
Unless the government were guaranteeing jobs why should they be able to sue? They are just as subject to market forces as anyone else and they can use their qualification for other jobs, like corporate training.

I'm with rod
highly unlikely the whole story has been reported here. IT courses have a tendancy to advertise guaranteed jobs on completion and I'd imagine that's what's happened here or very similar

Not in the slightest - the Government mounted a huge campaign for people to train as teachers. If no campaign then the market forces argument applies, but, as the Government are the market as well, they should take responsibility. The adverts were even encouraging people to leave other proffessions, quoting the salaries that the new teachers would get, misleading the people to that extent should have some comeback IMO.

Megalol @ universities in general. Think of another enterprise in life where you can take 5 grand plus off a 'customer' and then treat the whole affair like you're doing them a 'favour'.
[ ] University has to get you a job and is normally to blame for you not getting one.
[X] University is in breach of contract if they took your money and failed to deliver on their promises where these promises
possibly included teaching, provision of careers advice and supply of job introductions.
Universities largely employ very clever people and get away with not paying them very much money. Wonder why....
University of Life FTW, BSc in Hard Knocks.

I assume the USA uni's are the same as here and if so.......
'its not our fault that she got smashed out her face none stop missed her lectures spent her money on cheap wine got herpies lived in a hovel and will probably never contribute to the world in anyway even though she did manage to get a 2-2 in media studies by giving the lecturer sexual favours and the football team but that had nothing to do with the 2-2 apart from there being 4 of them'

The advantage of a traditional University education in so far as I can see from observing peeps is that people who have been through the University system know that they really don't know anything at all in the grand scheme of things whereas graduates from the "University of Life" are more likely to believe that they know it all and act accordingly.
