A friend/contact posted this on my wall: What did you dream of doing when you were younger? (with link)

I clicked the link and reached a 'Request for Permission' page which said 'Q2LYLQ is requesting permission to do the following:' followed by the headings: 'access my basic information', 'send me email', 'post to my wall' and 'access my data any time'. I get bashing 'don't allow' but it seemed to just seemed to reset the page. I then accidentally clicked 'allow' (have just got up), and it went to a new page which was exactly the same but with a different code/application that was making the request. I clicked back, and clicked the application/code link and clicked 'don't allow'. I then thought maybe i could block it by going to the application's page, but I clicked it and it went to my own page?

Any advice? What are the dangers? How do I fix?

Sry, yes. Have removed. Thank link just takes you to the permission page, which is the dangerous part I think. That's where I made a donkey move.

Good point Constable Gatso - I've removed it lest some 'click first, read post later' blonde sees it.

EDIT: Bah - Snoopy self-modded first.

Anyway - not accepting any of these Facebook apps is probs a good idea - they are, at best, shit and at worst, trouble-causing.

Good point Constable Gatso - I've removed it lest Girgy sees it.

Here's the page it took me to when I clicked the tinyurl.com link on my wall:

After I clicked allow by accident, I click back in my browser to this page and clicked 'don't allow' but it just resets the page with a new code.

I clicked the code in blue to see if I could block the application on its own page, but it just went to my page, which is highly worrying!

Keep an eye on the other friends on your list.  More than likely will auto post to their walls now having their details from you and if they click accept - well it's rinse repeat really.

Can you contact FB and ask them for their advice?

I had a look through their support, but couldn't see any contact number.

I've managed to remove the application via Account>privacy settings, so hopefully that'll be enough and I did it before any spam was sent out or anything.

Note to self. Don't open Facebook first thing in the morning.

But you at least have the cursor over the link and your finger half way down to the mouse button before you realise?

One fifth of Facebook users are exposed to malware contained in their news feeds, claim security researchers.

I don't do Facebook so don't know if it's relevant.
