Great ep.
According to the website the BBC wanted a cheap 7th episode and that was the result.
I was impressed that the entire thing seemed to be done in 2 shots.

Don't get wrong, I really enjoyed it. But when viewed as part of the overall series it does stand out as a bit of a filler ep.

I caught up with this episode last night on the old Sky+. Really excellent. As the fill-in bloke said at the end, basically it was an homage to Hitchcock, in particular the film "Rope". And I felt particularly geeky when I spotted the fake change-the-film-reel-in-the-camera. Hitchcock used the technique of filling the screen with a dark object momentarily as a cut point when he needed to change film reels. They still make the film look pretty seamless, but if you know about it, they become obvious. They did the same thing in Psychoville about halfway through when they opened the lid of the trunk, although I suspect that was done as an in-joke for geeks rather than to change a film reel.

Second series started last night. Seems like a good mix of old and new characters. I especially liked the librarian and the silent singer
