If I were them, in the knowledge that MON would probably be waiting for Spurs...I'd try hard to get Paul Lambert I reckon
Rich I know you and I are on opposite sides when it comes to rating MON so don't really want to debate it again but if we can forget ability do you think he would be wise to wait for Spurs?
Assuming that Redknapp is not in prison at the end of the season Spurs could be a Champions League team again. Not only does that make it more tempting for Redknapp to stay but it will also bring in a higher calibre of applicants for the job. Could see the likes of Benitez interested and he's won the CL! Also thought that Moyes was always the man going to take over from Harry. Money run dry at Everton so I think fans would understand he's taken them as far as he can and leaving for a team with a bigger budget and more chance of winning something. Also thought Levy had tried to get him previously.
Just seems a risk unless he's decided he only wants to work again if it's a huge job.

Seeing as you asked, & quite unable to miss a spam op - like a mini-Channing me......

Online bookmaker Sky Bet have installed Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill as 2/5 favourite to take charge at Sunderland after the Black Cats relieved Steve Bruce of his managerial duties.

Steve Bruce had been steadily backed by punters to be the first Premier League manager to leave after their 2-1 home defeat to Wigan – their sixth league defeat in 13 games, and their third at the Stadium of Light. The result left Sunderland in 16th place, just two points above the drop zone.

Bruce’s departure, after two-and-a-half year in charge, now raises questions as to who will succeed at the Stadium of Light. Former Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill has been installed as 4/6 favourite with Sky Bet, while Mark Hughes – out of a job since leaving Fulham in the summer – is 9/2. Eric Black, who will take temporary charge of Sunderland, is 18/1, while Huddersfield manager Lee Clark – who played for both Sunderland and Newcastle – is 28/1.

Sky Bet’s Dale Tempest said: “While the departure of Bruce is no great surprise, the timing of it perhaps is – many people thought he would get a chance to redeem himself against Wolves and beyond.

“Martin O’Neill is favourite and the Northern Irishman would love to manage in the Premier League again after an 18-month hiatus; Mark Hughes would also jump at the chance of management again. Other interesting candidates include Rafa Benitez, Carlo Ancelotti and Steve McClaren.”

Sky Bet’s next permanent Sunderland manager odds: http://www.skybet.com/betting/football/manager-specials/t10002896.html

Unless you know the chairman of the respective club...anybody betting on this market needs serious help

I'd have him back at Forest, in fact I'd go fetch him myself if it was to help.  Sunderland is near Scotland innit!!!!

Bet he's interested.

Or 1/8 with skybet which is a little indecent pointing.
