How do you find out if you had PPI on old loans?   I had a loan that finished last year, but I have no idea on if I had PPI on it or not.  Just signed up at Experian to see the loan btw

Lol Ray / Pleno - abut thin, but trying to share the knowledge. Guess its because NRAM is a Geordie bank lol

Silo - got to money expert.com and there are some template letters. Basically, write to lender using letter and enclose a cheque for a £ and they are obliged to send you copies of the credit agreement and T&Cs. The news yesterday suggested more banks will contact direct as NRAM did with me...however I think no harm in investing a £. If you did there are other letters to then get claim rolling.

The send a quid and get a copy of your agreement method may not reveal if you have /had PPI. They can send all sorts of shit as a true copy as long as it has Creditor details, debtor details, prescribed terms. Carey

If you know who you borrowed from it might be easiest to phone and ask. If you don't trust them and don't have a your own copy paperwork the a Subject Access Request is probably best as you'll get statements which you can check. Costs £10.

Stupid question...

You only have been sold PPI when you have had a loan with the bank? I keep getting phone calls from somewhere asking about PPI and that I have been misold PPI, but yet I have never had any loans from the bank. I have a overdraft with the bank?

Just very confused.

The phone calls are from claim management companies who will take a third of anybodies claim for doing something which is almost free.

They're just hiring a call centre to bombard everyone with speculative calls 'just in case'

i.e. whether you've had a loan, or whether you've had PPI, or whether you've been mis sold PPI is irrelevant - the end conclusion is just to ignore these phone calls because you don't want anything to do with them.

I had a call like this last week.  I just said "which loan would that be then?" and she hung up!

Yes but they are devious bastards. If they admit it fine but if they say no don't believe them.
