I don't believe that some of you have spent £100k on alcohol, perhaps trying to say my balls are bigger than yours? etc.

I go out most weekends, but I am only 22. I have no idea how much I have spent on alcohol, not even sad enough to even try counting.

In fact, I take it all back. I have just calculated that my Dad must have spent at least £250k on alcohol. Dear me.

Few hundred quid a month plus the odd massive blow out over 20+ years and it all adds up mate, me and my mates were pretty much WTF when we sat down and thought about it.

The problem is when you're 19 years old, with no routine, responsibility, just really properly getting into going out and you have a higher than average amount of disposable money, if you're prone to going a little bit nutso then you are going to quite quickly cannon a high amount of money off Cheesy

Also, and perhaps most relevant...VEGAS!

16-23 I went out 4 times per week spending avg of £80-£130 per night. 28 now, dont go out as much but since then still been on loads of lads holidays/stag dos/wknds away where the sole purpose was to drink as much as poss, have had a fair few £1k+ days on booze, 3 trips to Vegas, 2 of which I did double K figures, would hate to find out the exact amount I have spunked but I imagine its somewhere close to if not above the 100k mark.

I had a good 7yrs where i earned anywhere between 18-30k and during the whole time i had no bills, never owned a car, never paid rent, never owned anything worth over 2k yet I was always skint and manged to do 15k on credit cards. Fuck knows were all that went. Most of that would have been on strippers, booze, taxis and takeaways.

Reckon I would make a podium finish if it was the same question on strippers tbh.

Don't worry tho, I am a functioning member of society these days.

If it makes anyone feel better, I reckon, converted to current spending power, I've probably spent £100k lifetime on cigarettes. Ugh. As dumb goes, thats pretty dumb. Maybe alcohol would have been a better route.

(1 pack per day, call that £50 per week, call that £2,500 per year, & I've smoked on & off since I was 16 - whoops, make that nearer £125k).

The time may have come to quit. "blonde quit smoking thread" imminent.
Tikay ..have you tried giving up?
have you read the little story about me giving up after 20 years?

Tony is great stopping smoking. He's done it loads of times.
