With that 'piece of paper' it just speeds up prospects for you.
If you are working same hours and studying can only be a bonus, I take it employer is paying for you to go 'back to school'?
I think it's a good move, good luck!

Get your cv up to scratch. Use a template. You have e found online and then have a bash and take it to a recuitment office and get them to give you, tips into making it better.
Then upload your Cv to
Reed Monster Total jobs Jobsite
And create a profile on linked in.
Then you'll get some calls back

I went back to school as a grown up and tho I'm not the best student in the world I'm good with the getting going bit!! Do you have any idea what you want to study or are you looking for inspiration? Depending on your chosen study area most colleges now offer something akin to an access course for mature students (around a years worth of study at 16 hr pw - though a biology/chemistry/physics route may be 2 years..) Access courses are really useful for things like learning to structure assignments, exams ect.. and usually contain refresher gcse's (or equiv) in both maths and English as part of the course. Plus you will gain enough equiv a levels to get you onto most university courses as an adult learner.. Alternatively some universities offer a foundation year (course dependent) however these are usually open to all ages so expect students from 18+ on these.. PM me if you want to me to go into detail otherwise I'll bore half of Blonde to death GL whatever you decide xx

Even at your young age, teaching styles might well have changed, so just be prepared that it will feel very much different to when you were doing it first time around half your life ago. Are you doing a vocational/professional course or is it more open and you're thinking about doing something more academic? There's inevitably someone on blonde who can help if the latter and probably even if the former

Thanks for what has been said so far.
As it stands at the moment I'm unemployed and have no formal qualifications in what I have been doing over the last 10 years so I don't seam to be able to get a job doing what I like (do I go as far to say love) to do with out as I put it be for 'bits of paper'. The plan is to go to my local regional college (Cambridge if you wanted to know) and try and do a full time corse to get the qualifications I need to what I want to do.
What I am asking is, well is there anyone on hear that has done this before that can point me to places that could help me with......... well were to start really (I'm a bit poo at finding wear to start) or somewhere to I can get founding to do this???

I went to uni when I was 30 after about 10 years in sales to change career completely. Think I used a student loan for some funding but basically worked all the way through apart from my honours year where i went full time student for about 6 months. I would suggest that if you are going to regional college to find out what course's they offer to compare how that suit's your needs for you career and then look at the demands they will place on your time for classes and study. After that you will have a good idea of what time you have available to try to fit in some way of bringing in money. I don't know the system that well but can be pretty safe in the assumption that you will only get minimal assistance and most of it as I said will be in the form of debt. Good Luck.

go check out the college too, walk around, see the other students, talk to the teacher/staff if possible. My impression of most colleges are they are full of utter tossers who want to just mess about, idiots, foreign students on Study visa's or the odd mature student who wants to study. worth finding out before...

Do you base your opinion on 'walking around'?
