Big stacks put pressure on the medium stacks as well as the short stacks, therefore increasing their chances of winning tourney, so the longer the bubble goes on the better for big stack.

That is a good point and a big factor, thanks for clarifying.

You obviously get annoyed very easily:)  Doesn't need to be a discussion anyway, a simple black card, red card ballot could do the job in less than a minute.

Same manning up principle goes for any deals in the cash as well I guess? Online do these though!

Ditto ditto ditto - I hate this part of live donkaments, like if you can't pay the £50 don't play. I also hate to be made to feel like the villain in these situations, by others at the table

Not exactly sure how they do it but @ walsall G they let people anonomously choose yellow or red card before discussing a deal. If there are any red cards present when td checks then play just continues with no further discussion. Seems fair enough.

I seem to recall that asking for or attempting to arrange a payment for the bubble is, or was, banned at DTD.

Obviously the no-deals rule for guaranteed tourneys rules it out, but I doubt that the regular games ever have this issue

If it's a tourney, one objector = play on and bubble gets nothing.

If it's a satellite, one objector = exclude him / her from the deal and all try and knock him / her out for being and absolute arse.
