I'm going to be spending sometime in Sunderland over the next couple of months, where's the best places for a live poker fix for both cash and tourneys?

TIA

Last I heard Sunderland Gala had the most obscene rake structure ever, so much so that there players travelled to Teesside to play. I think it was 5% capped at £25!

Gala Teesside has a decent £100/150 every 8 weeks, as do G Tesside, I'd go to Gala for cash but the games in a state of flux atm and games struggling a bit in the area. Newcastle tends to be poor but they do have some decent tournies on at the Genting, like a decent monthly £60.

Hetton Poker Club might be worth a look.
I'm hosting an added value $75+$5 tournament (online buy in, hence the $) this weekend.
Sounds like a fun poker club and they host regular tourneys and cash games that might be an alternative to the casinos

Grosvenor in Teesside has a decent £30 + £30 on Tuesday night with unconditional £2000 gtd. Overlays most weeks lately due to it being up against the more established Gala Teesside £30 game which has a conditional guarantee of the same I believe.
Thursday's £10rb at Grosvenor is gtd at £1000 and has also had overlays lately.

Haven't played cash at Gala for a year or so but the .25/.50 game at G can be fun.

For more on G try looking at their fb page 'Poker at G Casino Stockton'
