Have had a holding in these for quite a while now. Got in at 3500 and with the takeover talks now at 4680.

Quite concerned by all the political posturing over this bid tho.

Any of the smart blondes have any thoughts on this?

I got in at similar level but been advised it's still a good long term holding. I can't provide any evidence behind this thought though as I'm as unsure as you by the sounds of it!

Just my 2 pence worth. I look at the drugs being prescribed and new drugs coming through.

AZ lost the patent on the anti-cancer drug Arimidex (now generic) and ulcer treatment Nexium.Their next blockbuster hope for treatment of colo-rectal cancer isn't getting clinical trial approval.

Their cholesterol drug Rosuvastatin isn't being prescribed by GP's as the new CCG's are switching to cheaper statins.
