Bit gutted actually he was one of those players I spent quite a lot of time with, really nice bloke.
First time I met him I was playing on the telly in the partypoker European open. I walked into the green room and he announced 'here he is!' Then he announced to the room that I was the partybets bookmakers favourite to win the heat.
I asked 'really, what odds did they give me?'
He replied 'I don't know, who are you?''

One of the first ever live tournaments I played I made day 2 with 2 tables left and decided to wear some sunglasses (this is 2005). He looked at me and said "Blimey, some kids taking this really seriously!". I took them off and never wore sunglasses again.

I was lucky enough to have dinner with Liam one time in Cornwall when he was a guest of Des Wilson and then play against him in a friendly 6 handed home game. It was my absolute pleasure to meet him and he was a real gentleman.

I remember when he was the TD of the Irish Open at the final table the year Marty Smyth won, he waited until the cameras stopped rolling during a break and bollocked Marty, Roland De Wolfe and Sorel Mizzi because he thought they were playing too shit for TV. They all pretty much apologised too him for it too.

Shared a table with him once still remember the look i got when i bluffed him.
But my abiding memory is of him sitting outside in his pyjama's when the fire alarm went off at 5am in the Marriott across the road that night.

Never shared a table with him but at events I covered he was always a gent. Love that he satellited into a few events in the last few years too.

Only sat at his table once in a gukpt main a few years ago at Bolton. He had a real presence about him at the table. RIP
