Dogs have the brain capacity and understanding level of a toddler to a 6 year old dependant on breed. german Shepherds are cleverest, certain breeds of Spaniel are stupidest.
Pigs, however, are cleverer than German Shepherds, which is a bit of a shame really, when you think how most of them ar treated
Not that I am a vegetarian, so I can't really talk.

One for those who question our mathematical expertise..........

And finally one that didnt probably need scientists to spend $200,000,000 researching - i could have told them for 5 bananas!! Apparently its in a monkey's genes to gamble......

I'm sure I heard/read somewhere that Border Collies were most intelligent/cleverest.
Confused now?

It is possible to lead a cow upstairs but not downstairs.
cue Kiv......
This is a slightly shortened version of the quote, the full quote is..
"It is possible to lead a cow upstairs when drunk, but its difficult getting rid of her in the morning when sober"

You can take a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.

I saw a TV show a few years ago which explained what Britians most intelligent animals were. In the top 10, there were three species of birds. Sqirrel's, rats, dogs and cats also featured in the top 10.
In top spot was the Rook. See link below. These birds are so intelligent. In each of the last two summers, I have fed and cared for injured rooks that seem to find their way into my garden. After building a shelter at the end of my garden, they slowly recovered. It didn't take long for these birds to associate me with food. However with people they didn't recognise they became agitated and attempted to fly away. Amazing birds.

These are some other intelligent animals native to the UK in the link below

There are some quick and interesting animal facts on this site below.

The pig is the only animal that smells the same alive as it does dead.
