He will be fine. You sat with him in the biggie at the Orleans and saw he had learnt some selfcontrol. Roland for the final I hope.

Well let's hope so. Roland, as the song goes, "won't back down", & he's mixing it up big time witrh Gorehing.

He's a big boy, he'll be all right.

Spectator conditions here are awful. The 2 tables are in a little room, accessed by a sort of double door sized opening, with a velvet rope across the opening to stop the watching froggies from going into the room. There must be 5,000 guys crowded round that opening - well more than a dozen. Shame. So Jen is inside the room, & I am outside in the corridor, a-la Las Vegas, but the boot on the other foot this time.

Hi VanGogh and Congratulations, of course.  Nice to have you on the forum.

Two more players out - Kalil Rahal and Garrett Patrick, former chip leader.

Roland de Wolfe is responsible for the latter - up against AA his Q4 turned into a flush draw which turned into a flush to knock Patrick out and give Roland the enviable stack of 558,000.  That's 558,000

Pete/Van Gogh, GREAT performance, well done, you made the Brits proud. We look forward to your report - please! We are all a bit confused by the "deal/no deal" thing, but it matters not, it's not relevant. You did us proud - that IS relevant.

if it counts as a deal does that mean all the players get the ranking points for 18th?

Do Ranking Points go down to 18th? I sorta thought they stopped at 9.

Jen quiet? That's because the ACF wifi has just dropped out again.

I've got my little Vodafone thingy, so if the wifi prob persists, I will give Jen my computer, so that the Updates can continue, albeit at a slower pace.

Just got to squeeze between the throng at the door first.....

Imraan Ladak lost a few chips limping under the gun with KK.  There was no raise for him to raise and he eventually had to lay them down when the board looked flushing and an opponent bet him all in.  He picked up the blinds a couple of hands later with JJ (they are now 4,000 8,000 ante 1000 so quite a bit each time) and is now on about 70,000.  From Milton Keynes, apparently; mainly plays cash though.

well does that mean no one will get any points then as the rule is if a deal is done everyone get the points for when the deal was struck

Nicolae Simcelescu narrowly avoided going out in 14th when his all-in with A3 was called by Tim Anders with A9.  The board came 7 8 K 10....7 to split the pot and they are therefore both still in and both fairly short, comparatively.

Ironside if they have to award points for 18th then they would, I imagine, go to the strict 18th - de Silva - as he had more chips at the start of the hand.  But I didn't even know they were up for grabs.  Going to have to find someone official if you really want to know the answer.
