for those who dont know the laws of the game, even if the referee had allowed the goal to stand (and he had blown his whistle before giuly shot), he would still have been duty bound to send lehmann off.

He was the last defender
He did foul the striker in an obvious goalscoring position.

so, the Arsenal got off a bit lightly.

Still, a nice few bob profit for me with 17/2 for a 2-1 victory.

I disagree, he could have let the "goal" stand and given Lehman a yellow card.

I don't think anyone would have complained about that.

In all honesty I'm disappointed that the ref didn't let the first "goal" stand.

Then we would have seen eleven versus eleven and a great game of football, win or lose.

Just another case of the ref playing far to big a part in the proceedings.

It was shaping up to be one of the great games, and at the end of the day I want to watch great games.
Mate that's nonsense by the Laws of the game it should have been a goal and a sending off. You can't give the advantage to the team who fouls just to make a game.

Ronaldinho scores three goals.

Bergkamp breaks his legs with a bat.

Ref just gives him a yellow to make a game.

You gotta send a man off if he's commited a sending off offence.

wouldn't have complanned but it would have been wrong. Decisions should be correct not for what's more entertaining.

But what I'm looking forwards to most is Nev admitting a great player from Scotland won it.

Rod you are wrong. To quote the rulebook, the red card offence is:

"denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick."

How can Lehmann have denied a goalscoring opportunity if a goal has been scored?

I'm sure we've all seen instances where, for example, a defender on the line handles the ball but it still goes in the net. The ref doesn't send off the defender, he awards a goal and gets on with the game.

In general I thought the ref was absolute garbage and Arsenal were very unlucky, but I did have a laugh at Arsene "their goal was offside, but I didn't see the free kick which led to our goal" Wenger. He must have the oddest eyesight in Europe.

RONALDINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Just back from the juicer

Quite honestly, my thoughts of tottenham fans have plumbeted to new heights.   There was a twat down the boozer that cheereed  every time something bad happened to Arsenal.  He nearly got beaten up after the game.

Why?  I appreciate you dirty lot don't support us, but you don't support Barca either.  What has it even got to do with you lot?    The bitterness show by tottenham fans over the last few months s unbelievable.  If the best you can hope for in a season is that we lose a game then good luck to you..  To be honest, I'm worn out.  Tonight has taken it out of me and I've had a few beers and can't really argue at this tme of night.

Next month you'll all be cheering on Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell.

Arsenall have done the Premiership proud, proving for yet another season that money can't buy everything.  You should all be thankfull that a Premiership club managed to reach the Champions League final for a second consecutive season and that the Premiership has yet another great season ahead of it.

Well played Arsenal, congratulations for making the final and for qualifying for next season.  Let's hope we can go one better Smiley

The red card of Lehman was blatantly wrong IMO.

There is such a thing in the game called common sense, and that should prevail overall.  If we played to the letter of the law every week most games would finnish 5 a piece.

Barcelona should have been awarded a goal and Lehman booked I think that would have been a sensible solution.

The referee was a disgrace and cheated the spectators out of what should have been one of the great Euro finals.

I feel sorry for Arsenal, granted Iw anted Barca to win before the game - leant towards Arsenal during and transferred by support back to Barca when King of Kings graced the park, but the game was spoiled by a referee who was out of his debt.  Remember this was the same numpty who sent of Del Horno at the Bridge as well.

I should be happy with the refs decisions I amde £220 profit out the game but I know what it fels like when your team is cheated and when a referee makes many bad decisions, Celtic fans remember seville?

It could have been so much more thouigh.

I remember how I felt when Big Bobo seen red in Seville for a legitimate tackle it ruined our chance IMO.

Referees have too much influence in the game this game was way over this guys head - I rell you Hugh Dalls would have done a better job and that says something!
